Mayanthi Jayawardena

Mayanthi Jayawardena is the multi-disciplinary artist behind Serendib Creative LLC. Mayanthi is a muralist, fine arts painter, children’s book illustrator, clothing designer and photographer. Mayanthi’s award winning art is internationally recognized and has been featured from North Carolina to Australia. Mayanthi describes her art as an expressive blend of her Sri Lankan culture and life experiences. Her murals are colorful, incorporate nature, people, and span from abstract to realism. She is eager for more opportunities to create unique and eye catching designs for the communities she serves. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Mayanthi worked in the field of sexual violence prevention & advocacy for over 9 years in higher education and with national leaders such as Tarana Burke. During her career she began using art as a form of healing. Through these experiences, she decided to take the leap to invest in herself and her art full time.
