Birds & Breakfast

Join us for Birds & Breakfast, a relaxed and enjoyable birdwatching event set in the serene surroundings of Burdens Creek. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just getting started, this event is perfect for all levels of bird enthusiasts! We love the little birding community we are building Hub RTP, and we’re excited to discover more with you!

On October 9th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, we’ll gather to observe the birds around Burdens Creek—both local residents and migratory visitors. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, meet fellow bird lovers, and share tips and stories about the birds you spot.

We’ll also be providing a light breakfast to fuel your morning. It’s a chance to enjoy a relaxing start to your Friday and connect with others who share your love of birds, plants and the outdoors.

What to Bring:

  • Binoculars (if you have them)
  • Comfortable footwear and clothing
  • A sharp eye and a curiosity for nature!

Whether you’re spotting your first robin or identifying native plants in Burdens Creek, Birds & Breakfast is a peaceful way to start your day. All ages and skill levels are welcome—come for the birds, stay for the company!

Since then, she has been a dedicated advocate, training and mobilizing new champions for bird conservation and environmental policy in Greensboro and Raleigh. Recognized for her impact, she received Audubon North Carolina’s Outstanding Advocacy Award in 2022 for her commitment to bird conservation and inclusive leadership.

Her expertise, along with her advocacy and communication skills, fuel her mission to foster a sustainable bioeconomy and a thriving natural environment in North Carolina and beyond.

Concerts on the Creek: Lamont Landers

This month, Concerts on the Creek features Lamont Landers.

When Lamont Landers steps up to the microphone, he doesn’t just perform—he owns the stage. His voice carries the weight of lived experience, shaped by the quiet resilience of a small-town journey that led him, on his own terms, into the spotlight. With a voice that soars effortlessly through deep wells of soul, electrifying bursts of rock ‘n’ roll, and smooth, slow-burning R&B, the Alabama native captivates not just as a powerhouse vocalist but also as a searing guitarist and a thoughtful, eloquent songwriter. His breakout came with a viral cover of Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road Jack,” topping 500K views overnight. He went on to electrify audiences on America’s Got Talent and Showtime at the Apollo. Landers’ debut EP, Introducing…Lamont Landers dropped last year.

You can learn more about Lamont Landers by going to https://www.lamontlanders.com/

A relaxed, open-air weekend music experience, Concerts on the Creek is Hub RTP’s monthly live music program featuring regional artists on the Hub RTP Stage. This series invites you to grab a lawn chair, spread out a picnic blanket, or wander the grounds while enjoying local sounds between lunch and dinner. With Burdens Creek and vibrant murals as the backdrop, take in the scenery and enjoy the fresh air. This series is perfect for families, friends or anyone looking to spend a leisurely weekend afternoon immersed in the Hub RTP community.
