Concerts on the Creek: GO79MAN | The New Route Live

This month, Concerts on the Creek features GO79MAN. Experience “Theatrical Soul” with GO79MAN, a Chicago-born, Raleigh-based artist redefining the boundaries of narrative hip-hop. This performance is a cinematic journey of evolution and triumph, co-created and brought to life through the creative partnership and production of his wife, Tiana Sutton.

A relaxed, open-air weekend music experience, Concerts on the Creek is Hub RTP’s monthly live music program featuring regional artists on the Hub RTP Stage. This series invites you to grab a lawn chair, spread out a picnic blanket, or wander the grounds while enjoying local sounds between lunch and dinner. With Burdens Creek and vibrant murals as the backdrop, take in the scenery and enjoy the fresh air. This series is perfect for families, friends or anyone looking to spend a leisurely weekend afternoon immersed in the Hub RTP community.

This event is free to attend and open to all. While attendance is free, please register for a free ticket to receive reminders and stay in the know for any updates. Free public parking is located on the deck just across the street at 3150 Elion Drive.

To find the stage, use 3151 Elion Drive. Upon arrival, walk through the outdoor breezeway (featuring the Desire Path mural) to the courtyard. Walk down the steps, and you will see the stage facing Burdens Creek. There are various seating options available that are first come, first served. Nearby shops and restaurants at Horseshoe at Hub RTP and Boxyard RTP are available. Keep in mind that this is an outdoor venue, so please dress and plan accordingly.

Shuffle: Gage Saylor and the Creekside Boys

Every Wednesday this month, Shuffle features Gage Saylor and the Creekside Boys. From the first note, Gage Saylor’s unmistakable voice will blow you away. It’s country, it’s roots, from Ocean Isle Beach! Their new album, In Misery We Trust, dropped in May. If you like Sturgil or Colter Wall, you’ll love this band.

Shuffle into your lunch break with weekly live music on the Hub RTP stage. This residency-style music series pairs elevated, unexpected sounds with your midday, giving you a chance to pause, recharge and enjoy local tunes. Whether you’re grabbing a bite, meeting a colleague or just stepping outside for a change in pace, Shuffle adds a refreshing soundtrack to your day. Performances take place midweek from March through June, and September through October, with a new artist-in residence featured each month.

Each month, we’ll explore a different genre with suggested selections curated in partnership with Durham County Library. You are always welcome to chart your own course and select any book of your choosing. Our Library partners have titles available from Hoolpa or Libby, making it easy to borrow and press play. This month’s selection is Science Fiction!

Here’s how it works:

Borrow or download a book in this month’s suggested audiobook genre from your local library. Arrive early to apply with for a library card if you do not already have one to gain access. This month’s suggested title is Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan. If you have already read it, cannot access a copy, or would prefer another title, we suggest: Of Monsters and Mainframes by Barbara Truelove or Area X by Jeff Vandermeer.
