Think inside the box
In the fall of 2021, Boxyard RTP opened its doors as the first food, beverage and experiential retail destination within Research Triangle Park. Before its grand opening, the Showroom served as an interactive shipping container display, offering future tenants and community members a preview of the hyper-local cargotecture that defines Boxyard RTP. The exterior design reflects the community lifestyle and culture of Boxyard RTP, a place where people can mingle, meet and support small businesses. Today, the Showroom stands as a reminder of a successful launch.
Sarahlaine Calva
As a first-generation Filipino-American multimedia artist, Sarahlaine Calva has dedicated over eight years to transforming public spaces through art. Self-taught and driven by a passion for turning environments into vibrant, respectful reflections of their surroundings, their work has adorned massive buildings and various canvases, including basketball courts. Projects include collaborations with brands such as Red Bull USA, FILA, ComplexCon, Nike, VicBlends, Pabst Blue Ribbon, eBay, as well as city government projects. Sarahlaine’s goal is to bridge communities and celebrate the power of art to connect people and places. By making the ordinary extraordinary, she turns the mundane into a canvas for inspiration and unity, showcasing the potential of public art to uplift and unite diverse groups.
